There is no thesis in the undergraduate program I am enrolled in nor the graduate program I'm looking at getting into, which is okay by me :)
-
@bookconsumption What'll be your thesis?
-
No I'm studying modern history, TESL, and communications. I'm nearly finished!
-
@bookconsumption Yeah, well, it was an easy way out of my dilemma. If I had realy thought hard...

@bookconsumption The psychological stuff in "Faces of the Enemy" was a bit too abstract for me. But the author Sam Keen also divides hostile propaganda into several divisions like the enemy as terrorist, the enemy as torturer, the enemy as vermin, the enemy as murderer of Christ and so on. He describes cause and consequence of this which all in all is pretty interesting. I presume you are studying psychology?

Oh Jack the Ripper? Haha very nice.

I agree dominion status was necessary. I think British history is pretty fascinating, especially the Victorian era. The culture, expansionist mindset, sharp definitions of class, racism, rise of Darwinism, feminism, changing foreign policies among other things make it a busy period. Hmm that book you last read sounds interesting I like histories that take a sort of psychoanalytical approach (Smith-Rosenburg takes such an approach by the way).

@bookconsumption I haven't dealed with books about Sikhs nor with Freud yet. I had to read some stuff about the British Empire for university. Good idea to grant her "white" colonies semi-independence with the establishment of the Dominions.
The last books I read were "From Berlin to Germania" about the projected monumental reconstruction of Berlin during the Nazi time, "Faces of the Enemy" about the psychological reasons of hostile imaginations and "The good Soldier Svejk" about a fool in WWI.
Inspiring list. Are these books all in German ?

@theUndinesSong1 The list is a bit war heavy but nevertheless, each book stands for a certain point in my life and interest development.
All are available in English except for "Man from Apulia" which was only translated into Italian.
