Ontario rap artist, Twisted Imagery has released his newest single titled "Darkness Bright," a track detailing the role television plays in blinding its viewers. As part of a growing movement to turn off televisions, Twisted Imagery is one of several musical artists contributing talent to the "Unplug the Signal" campaign.
Activist artist Nathan Janes, creator of the movement, comments on Twisted Imagery's latest work, "He has remarkable talent; he is shedding light with his lyrical imagery on the establishment media with its manipulation and manufacturing of so-called news. In a society where so many are hypnotized by tv, change will happen with artists like Twisted Imagery who put fears aside, step out of their comfort zone, and shout out the important issues in their artistry."

Unplug the Signal Campaign:
http://www.unplugthesignal.com/
Chorus
Can make the days seem right
and make the darkness bright
That's what you do..
until we unplug from the signal..
we'll never see the truth.
(Verse 1)
Unplug from the signal, rip the chord from the wall
and if sparks fly, I'll get applause's from you all
Cause we adore death, gore and the violence
Rather be met with white noise then the silence
We're swept off our feet for sport, like curling
but that ain't a sport, so we stick to channel surfing
Take a seat, your new to our expert panel
intelligence defined by finding discovery channel
We all agree that cable TV is shit
rather eat propaganda out of a Satellite dish...
Spot the bullshit from a distance with precision
like low quality programs, in high definition
They got voices around our head like surround sound
sound track of our life, ready to drown us now
You got the remote but not the control
like Pepsi and coke, illusion of choice
on the next episode...
Chorus
Can make the days seem right
and make the darkness bright
That's what you do..
until we unplug from the signal..
we'll never see the truth.
(Verse 2)
Mr. News Reporter, Mr. New Word Order...
Mr. I-just-lied-to-your-face-with-a-tape-recorder...
We got a chip on our shoulder, get ready to dip...
Yeah, we'd tell you the truth, but that' ain't written on the script
sniff, sniff, shed a tear for ratings and hits
We smile when we touchdown, with our media blitz
Cause Politricks, is a sports game for idiots...
trade presidents, and their values will mirror this
I worked at CNN, worked at fox news
I work to keep you blinded from alternative views
If money talks, then it screams and shouts
only paid in millions to sell billions out
It's evident, I'm irrelevant like the President
the teleprompter breeds like half of our intelligence
I know we lie to soldiers about the oil but...
it's justified, we just tried to keep the morale up...
Chorus
Can make the days seem right
and make the darkness bright
That's what you do..
until we unplug from the signal..
we'll never see the truth.
Verse 3
As a kid playing with lead in his toys
hearing a voice, addicted to the background noise
I'm not as sharp as Noah arch, no denying it
Label me an idiot, a product of environment
I'm sorry if my mental capacity, battles me
thus radically makes me mathematically, average see
Essentially, I write about what's left of m
divide and multiply, until I conquer the potential me
They say I lack credentials, a suite or a tux
to sell your votes too, for a couple of bucks...
the system's failing, with their suicide mission
slowly turning you tube into corporate television
They used to have coliseums in Rome
now we got Rome in the comfort of our home
You can choose to stand up or lay prone
unplug from the signal, or bow to the throne...
Chorus X2
Can make the days seem right
and make the darkness bright
That's what you do..
until we unplug from the signal..
we'll never see the truth.

Why should some one trust the music industry over the television industry? They are own by the same corporations? Same goes for the internet? Shouldn't we turn them all off...
Since all of them are used to spread some one else's views and agenda?

@yolkum We shouldn't, that's why music like this will never be on the radio, on MTV, or featured in music magazines.
Like I've said before the internet is a free and open source, what we are fed by TV, Radio, and Newspapers are managed and controlled by a small group of corporations. It we are not careful the internet will be come owned by the same interest & control
If we didn't have the internet you would never hear songs like this or it would be very difficult to find songs such as this.
