"the Cafe Gallery" 1st 2012 poetry open mike, 1/18/12 at Gallery Cabaret of poem readings, part 1

On Wednesday January 18th 2012, Janet Kuypers hosted the first open mike night for her regular poetry/performance art open mike should for "the Cafe Gallery" at Gallery Cabaret (2010 North Oakley Ave. in Chicago, one block east of Western Avenue and one block north of Armitage, also right by Milwaukee Ave. and near the Blue line el stop), from 7:00 to 9:00 PM (before the singer/songwriters night, which starts at 9:00 PM). In this 1st installment of the poetry open mike in 2012 at Gallery Cabaret, there was no scheduled feature, so (because there were monitor problems with the computers at Gallery Cabaret, which would normally do the video recording), the host of "the Cafe Gallery"(Janet Kuypers, with assistance from John) filmed the open mike poetry readers. This video is from close to half of the poetry open mike evening.

In video part 1, Kuypers started off the open mike by introducing the new location to the live audience, plus she read her brand new original poem "Games We Play". Then Tom Roby came up and read poetry, before Kuypers read the Bob Rashkow poem (because he is starting as the side kick to this poetry open mike in 2012, but was unable to attend the first 2012 meeting) "the Scene Behind", read from the now sold out 2005 Scars Publications (http://scars.tv) collection book "Chaos Theory". Kuypers also read her poem "10 Minutes" from the collection book "Chaos Theory", beofre Dave Gecic (of PuddinHead Press) came up to read poetry. Following Dave Gecic, Kuypers read a number of poems from the January 2012 issue (v228) of cc&d magazine (monthly literary/art magazine with the subtitle "the UN-religious, NON-family oriented literary and art magazine", published through Scars Publications, http://scars.tv) by other authors, including Mel Waldman's poem "Healer", the Dan Fitzgerald poem "A Small Waterfall", the Michael Aspros poem "Oaks in a wheat field", the Jacob Kreutzer poem "the State of Humanity", and her short poem "film the cheerleaders". She then called up Jenene Ravesloot to read her poetry live. Kuypers finished part 1 of the video links for this poetry open mike by reading 2 poems from the January 2012 issue (102) of Down in the Dirt magazine (monthly literary/art magazine with the subtitle "revealing all your dirty little secrets", published through Scars Publications, http://scars.tv) by other authors, including the Robert D. Lyons poem "Got Hates Us All", and the Sean Lause poem "the night I forgot to be afraid".
