@trident3b The full electric does not produce more co2 than a hybrid when utilizing the grid. Certainly not even if the grid was 100% coal supplied, which it is not. (40% avg)

@trident3b It's more of publicity.

@3089280288 lack of marketing I suspect on behalf of Fisker. Haven't Tesla been taken over by Merc, or some JV at least??
-
@3089280288 To be honest, I had never heard of Fisker until right now. Will do more research on them.

@trident3b I like how you've put "yet" on there. Citroen has a new aev, as does Renault. Renault's new series of AEVs look Great!

the hybrid IS the solution. The small ic motor emits so little co2 that it is no issue and this way you get the mileage. Simply have the ic engine drive a generator and that in turn powers the electric motors. Electic motors have far more torque and therefore are better than an ic engine as the prime mover. Having pure electric means drawing more power from the grid and the grid is then produing more co2 than hybrids. no solution. Proper hybrid correctly designed is the way to go.

@trident3b What do you think about the Chevy Volt?
strive4impact 6 months ago
@strive4impact the Chevy Volt is indeed the way to go. Conceptually the right thing in my opinion. Btw; Also known as the Opel Ampera in Germany.

@trident3b I didn't know Chevy and Opel were aligned?
strive4impact 6 months ago
@strive4impact indeed, Opel was bought out by GM in 1929 I think it was. Opel has been a 100% daughter company of GM since then with a break from 1939 to a little after the war when GM took them over again. So in the case of the Chevy Volt the German version (uses same technology) & is simply produced in Germany. It looks a little different, but the guts are all essentially the Volt.
