Not knowing anything about this case I can only ask,why didn't she seek help? Caring for disabled relative brings huge pressure & at times those who are the care provider will become so unfocused they act totally out of character.Yes,there are those who will deliberately abuse their position.But for those who just 'snap' they also need help & understanding,along with nominal punishment.Whatever this woman's circumstances she'll have to live with what happened for the rest of her life.

I don't understand why she never sought help for herself, ie. counseling. If she couldn't care for her daughter, couldn't she have asked a relative for help?
