On his biography for A&E, Zmeuda said he really was a busboy while doing Taxi. This was one of the only non- put- on things Kaufman did.

P.S. And he had time to do it. It was in his "Taxi" contract that he only showed up twice a week - once for script reading and once for the live filming of the episode. That was another reason he was resented by the cast.

No, I believe he really did. But the thing with him taking the couples' food right after it was served to them was obviously a gag.

No worries, I still have my doubts about Andy actually keeping a regular job while he soared so high. You never knew with him, this was probably part of one of his happenings. He loved messing with people's minds.
