  • Wonderful! We can watch a lecture right at our computers.

  • I was suprised at the protesting! I had no idea there were funding cuts happening in parts of the US. As Richard said though - it's no good protesting if you don't have a solution. I'm sure there are bright people who could work out where money is being wasted and from where it could be diverted to stop any cuts in education funding. Without that - protesting is like 'peeing' against the wind. It feels nice and warm but achieves nothing!!

  • I wonder if any of the protesters actually stayed?

  • Use google.

  • What do you mean by SUBHAN ALLAH?? Sounds like some terroristic code to me.

  • Indeed they are. Subhan allah. He is great teacher.

  • BTW, when is Dr. Muller's next lecture?

  • Although I graduated from college years ago (and took Physics I and II), I look forward to my "Muller-fix" with each new lecture. (I watched most of the previous ones posted).

Did they change the name of the course from "Physics for Future Presidents" to "Letters and Science"?

Both instructors are great, but I prefer Dr. Muller. Wish we had a teacher like him back when I was in college!

  • (@ravingidiot) Is that correct? Everything but healthcare and higher education are protected? That seems completely crazy! They are two of the most important sectors. If the US wants to remain in it's dominant world position, it should be increasing higher education funding - never decreasing. It's a shame the Bush administration and the banking sector have left the country in so much debt. The Iraq war has done similar to the UK national debt.

  • Unfortunately, the funding cuts are a very real thing. My state is dealing with a similar problem because everything but healthcare and higher education are protected by our state constitution, meaning that these two services are always the first to receive budget cuts. I believe that the students who were protesting, while probably well meaning, are sending the wrong message by disrupting class in the process. Dr. Muller handled this situation in a surprisingly rational and diplomatic manner.

  • I'm watching this for free right now. Thanks Dr. Muller and all at UC Berkeley that has made this information available to all!

  • thanks for the lecture.
