Author Jacqueline S. Homan gives examples of classism and how the poor are charged more for basic utilities and auto insurance and touches on how the prison-industrial complex plays a role to provide unjust enrichment for private profiteers while serving as the largest dumping grounds for America's "have-nots."

  • Thank you Ozonekidd. My fifth part of this series would not upload because it was too long (says YouTube), but in the end of it, I refer people to check out the book Classism For Dimwits which far more deeply addresses these issues and shatters the "meritocracy" myth. You can hop on Amazon and look that book up and check out the few free pages in the Search Inside the Book option to get an idea.

  • I admire your calm and measured rebuttal to an ill-informed, insensitive and classist member of the petit-bourgeoisie. The woman with whom you are having colloquy will simply not be able to listen, process and respond to your argument. What you are doing, however, is far from a waste of time. It clarifies your own mind, and those of others. I admire your ability to be logical, but the frustration you experience is shared by many. The true meaning of "solidarity" is hard to define in words.
