Lakeshore, Chicago, IL

If anyone has any doubts about Chicago having real beaches, all you need to do is look at this video. I walked to this beach this afternoon after work and it is very close to N. Michigan Ave, the Hancock Building and downtown. Chicago is an amazing city.

Chicago, hands down, is an asbolutely beautiful, cosmopolitan, and clean city, in and of itself! That said, the fact that Lake Michigan actually extends througout the city, is more than I could ever ask for. I'll take Chicago and Lake Michigan, over the beaches of South Florida any day of the week. Besides - - Florida palm trees get old after a while. :)

Beautiful beaches. I was telling a woman from Florida and she laughed saying she grew up where there were REAL beaches and then admitted she'd never seen any of the great lakes! For all who aren't aware, Chicago is an amazing city! Everyone should make a point of visiting. Great shopping, great restaurants and bars. (The museums are awesome too.) But Lake Michigan is the star of the city!!
