do you know why the goal CVP for septic patients undergoing early goal directed therapy is 8-12 mm Hg when the normal CVP is 2-6 mm Hg? thanks!

A normal CVP is 2-6 mmHg or 5-10 cmH2O, however some protocols call for higher than normal CVP's in the range of at least 8-12 mmHg when dealing with septic shock resuscitation.
