Scots Guardsmen are fiercely proud of their unbroken service and loyalty to the Monarch and their hard won reputation as fighting soldiers. The Regiment has it's home in Catterick but has previously served on operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Falkland Islands.
1st Battalion Scots Guards

The Battalion is currently stationed in Catterick, North Yorkshire and is employed in the Armoured Infantry Role. The Battalion will remain in Catterick for the foreseeable future maintaining its armoured role. The Battalion holds 5 companies as well as supporting arms.

Life in the Battalion is varied and challenging, one day you could be driving across the Polish plains in a Warrior Armoured Vehicle, and the next your packing your kit to go on an adventure training exercise in Northern Australia.
F Company

F Company is a sub unit of the Scots Guards. The company was formed from the 2nd Battalion Scots Guards, which was placed into suspended animation after the Defence cuts in 1993.

F Company has served in London since 1993 and have taken part in nearly every major ceremonial event that has taken place in the Capital during recent years, including the funeral of the late Queen Mother.

Public duties are the 'bread and butter' of the company but it is also expected to carry out operational duties anywhere in the world. Guardsman can expect to be posted to F Company after training.

  • In any case, I envy those who manage to join the regiment. They have my deepest respect.

  • Thus, in order to attract the recruits that fit this essential part of the job profile I think that SG promotionals should be more explicit on the subject. In addition, army life can be excruciatingly tedious. Real action is only a tiny part of what it is all about. Therefore, guys must be able to withstand the weird oscillation between both long periods of gnawing boredom on the one hand and sudden bits of extreme stress on the other, which I do not really encounter in this vid.

  • Nice vid! Still based on the images you'd be forgiven for thinking that really, life in the regiment is an extended Outward Bound course, which it is not of course. The regiment is in essence trained for one thing only, being to enforce British interests, if need be with violence. Put more graphically the guys are trained to fight, to kill and, possibly, to die if so required. This is part of life in a professional combat unit like the SG.

  • @matty5611 yer a wanker ya cunt cause we are the best regiments of the army
