Trash picked 1987 Toshiba color tv

I found it today set out for trash pick up, and there is nothing wrong with it. It even has good batteries in the remote! Just needs a good clean up. Amazing what people throw will away.

I found a 1987 CF917 today while doing a walkthrough of a foreclosed home. People just leave their stuff behind and the Department of Agriculture comes in and trashes it all. A few years ago I found a 1988 RCA Colortrak 2000 in one of these. Both of them work perfectly fine. One mans' trash is anothers' treasure, I say.

I trash pick TV's all the time! i have 8 sets so far

Good catch. The older Toshiba's were great sets. If you know how to solder, you should resolder the pins on the vertical IC, the horizontal drive transformer and any other solder joint that looks stressed. Not much else goes wrong with them.

Some of my best TVs I got from the trash. I'm glad that it is not going to the landfill.

@RVDMISSISSAUGAKID yes it is sad they threw it out.it they didn't want to tv should have donated it to the goodwill or some thrift stores.its really a sin when people do that.but one persons trash is another ones treasure.

It is disgusting that people would throw out a working TV like that.

In Canada the liberalized attitudes towards things have taken their toll. For environmental purposes, the government is even encouraging people to throw out their old stuff in favor of "energy efficient" appliances.
