The Saturday-morning counterpart to "Shazam" was "Isis" - the story of a young high school science teacher descended from Hatchepsut, the only woman Pharaoh of Egypt, who was heir to the secrets of the goddess Isis. With her secret amulet, she could transform into Isis and rescue stupid high school kids while delivering a lecture on morality. Obviously she would be considered un-PC under Dear Leader (even though Isis is from Egypt and therefore technically African). But hey, this is what we grew up with in the 1970s. Besides, she's more African than Dear Leader and a lot more conservative - which is what we need right now in the USA.

  • To transform, does Andrea call, "Oh Mighty Isis", or "Oh, my Isis"?

  • @stevenscottoddballz: It is "Oh Mighty Isis."

Thank you VERY much! I'm hard-of-hearing, & liked the show, but could never quite catch which she said. I hope Isis, on DVD is Closed Captioned - or at LEAST Sub-Titled! Thanks again!

  • @stevenscottoddballz: No problem. Glad you enjoyed the clip!

  • Funny how this white lady became an Melanite, that is funny. Dang, they steal everything don't they...

  • @Beyondlife7: This "melanite," as you so engagingly put it, is actually (according to the intro) a descendant of Hatchepsut, the first woman pharaoh. That being said, she is descended from Egyptian (not sub-Saharan) royalty. In other words, she was a Hellenist, not a Nubian.

Who is "they" that steal everything? Oh yes, that's right - liberals. Gotcha.

  • Fathers of young children loved this series, not because of the morality lessons, but because the actress was so pretty in that short white skirt.

  • It's so bad it's brilliant!

  • The acting was always so bad, I couldn't get into this even as a kid. "O zephyr winds that dwell on high, lift me now so I can fly." LOL!

  • @spinekod It's on Netlfix now only 1 season.

  • @zabadazidit

I think he meant Underpants Gnomes. Or Panty Golems.

  • Da bomb. Thx for the post ! ;) -c-c-
