This is actually the first video that I took of this engine this one was before I put my headers on and I took the pan off after this video just to make sure everything looked good. I re-ran to make sure nothing leaked. Well I took a 350 Oldsmobile Diesel and converted it to gas. It has a 425 big block Olds crank, BBC connecting rods, edelbrock heads, 850 cfm carb, 11:1 compression with about 550hp. Who would have thought it was originally a Diesel engine

  • what did u do about the lifters the diameter is bigger on the diesel

  • @jonesy716 This is a 77 Diesel Block (350D casting) which had a flat tappet cam. The diesel blocks from 80s and even the gas blocks from the 80's ie.307 had roller cams which has the bigger diameter lifter bore. But there are retrofit lifters to convert flat tappet to roller but are expensive.

  • Man I had an 81 eldorado That came with an olds diesel from the factory. It was converted to gas but they never changed the crank so it still had crazy compression and timing issues. It did run though. Sold that car for $300. Dumb Dumb Dumb!

Mine had 455 big block "C" heads and a quadrajunk carb. Friend is restoring a 71 cutlass. He is not happy with me for selling that car. I am not happy with me for selling that car. I am kicking myself in the arse!

  • @graffin00000 most people when they convert those cars to gas they just yank the diesel and drop in a 350 gas engine.

  • All that and you are running manifolds and quiet mufflers? I was very dissapointed with this vid.

  • @stonent theres an air pump in the place of the distributor just pull it out and drop in a distributor.

  • Got goose bumps when you cranked it with no manifolds wooh gotta love some rocket power!

  • Where do you stab in the distributor on a Diesel block?

  • Hey brad sounds like the engine is running pretty good I think you were one of my roomates in college. Its Nik I had the yellow stang

  • @midnitesquirldog Ya you have to snatch them up when you can. I did!
