To change the tie rod end (outer) or the inner tie rod, you start by removing the cotter pin, nut, and ball joint from the wheel assembly.

  • me i dont take a chance if the boot is split the hole thing gets replaced beisids thoes outer tierods even the inners are not expensive so safter to replace

  • i am attempting to take my drivers side tie rod off, im going to the store to get a c clamp, hopefully this will work, ive been trying for about 5 hours...sprayed it down with pb last night and let it sit over night also

  • I use a pipe wrench too. Also, you can buy replacement boots for afew bucks.

  • I use a pipe wrench to turn them off..
