    well, kind of, the last half hour of the movie is in the daytime. but youre right most of the movie is at night and thats interesting about the tarps.

    Your information is partially true. The elevated train scenes and some of the lower level scenes(under the "L") were shot in Chicago. (Near Lower Wacker Drive)
