Join Aldo Leopold Foundation interns Carson Main and Fletcher Clark as they work to control the invasive tree common buckthorn. Learn about the control methods that have helped the foundation to be successful in managing this problem species. Buckthorn grows in dense thickets in forests, shading out native vegetation. It has become a threat to woodland health across much of the northeastern United States.
I love to hate buckthorn and have started to burn it to make maple syrup. I have put all my friends on notice about buckthorn and they are getting tired of me ranting about the stuff. Thanks for this video. I live in Vermont and it sure has become a problem here. Craig
