Brain Anatomy Using Real Human Brain.wmv

Exploring the anatomy of the brain by the great anatomist Dr. Shibsankar Banerjee, an R G Kar alumnus. Seen in this specimen are the cerebral and cerebellar hemispheres, corpus callosum, the pons and the medulla oblongata, the cingulum and many more intricate structures. I hope to cover the Basal Ganglia, internal and external capsule, the optic radiation sometime later.

I worked for a museum once and my job was to watch over the human brain that we let everyone hold and touch. One guy started to throw it up in the air like a football. I warned him that we take all future brains from museum visitors should anything happen to the brain I was responsible for. It was sort of laminated or something. It was stiff and had some sort of chemical preserving it. Very interesting.

Wonderful lecture, very clearly explained.Even though i am engineering professional I am fascinated at the complexity of this little organ that drives us all. Thanks to the cameraman cum up-loader for making this video which gives us an insight into how anatomy classes are conducted.
