New Colony Six... I remember this song but I guess it's because I listened to WLS radio from Chicago.

This song did get up to number 10 in July of 1968 on WLS. Unfortunately, most of the rest of the country never heard of it. But for another great example of WHY? I Need Love by the Third Booth got up to #2 in the same month, only kept out of #1 by Jumpin Jack Flash. But try to find anyone outside of Chicago or Peoria who ever heard of it, and try to find anyone besides Bob Stroud who ever plays it.

I can't believe that this song never hit the Top 40. What were we teenagers thinking at the time? Was it that the radio stations gave it little air play?I bought the record and still listen to it often.
