This was just a quick last minute test of my new softbox with my friend april i think it worked out well

Cheaper ones typically don't keep the quality of light and don't have the flexibility of one of these which will give a great shaped catch-light in the model's eyes. Very natural. Every decent softbox I've used requires connectivity like this but his also uses colored panels to warm the light for more control. Please try different ones before leaving such a numb-skulled post. Sorry, just seems like you've not used pro lights before. White lightning is fast but...

Don't be afraid to search for right angle and look a little bit stupid from a side. It is good example how should professional photographers to work.
