Kathan Brown talks about Obama's "magpie approach" to literature and politics in reference to a NY Times article written by book critic Michiko Kakutani. She relates this approach to art collecting (giving us a view into her private collection,) and argues that having an open mind ultimately helps a brain that has good hunches.
