Simcoe County- The County Council voted 22-10 against the dump when they realized it was not just a matter of NIMBY but actual pollution happening. They had started to dig ahead of the vote in order to say they would have to complete the job having spent serious money to dig the hole.
The seams on the liner were only good for 2 years.
The foreman on the dump-site came out onto the road with his large pick-up truck and spun his tires, gunning the truck through the protesters -- where are the cops when you need them?
They charged the natives with mischief and intimidation while the whites were only charged with mischief. All charges and fines dropped.
