@pompei1968 You make a good point, I just didn't care for this video because it clearly wasn't very objective - it seemed like they were determined to smear Mussolini from the beginning of the video, instead of letting me make my own decision. And I agree that Italy needs a Mussolini today, to stop the bankers from financially raping the workers like they are doing now under the new PM.

Italy is a catholic country yes, but fascist ideology were not "catholic", at least in Italy. Mussolini were an ancient atheistic socialist activist and at the beginning fascist party was certainly anticlerical.

Later (1929) the Fascist regime signed a concordat whit the catholic church to gain popularity...but it was only a matter of propaganda: for many aspects fascist ideology has always been very far from the catholic religion and in fact many catholics were persecuted.

It's a lie that fascists generally persecuted Catholics. Fascism was set up in many Catholic countries, and probably supported by certain Catholic elites. Italy is almost entirely Catholic.
