Mike York will join Pelicans Lahti (plays in Finnish hockey premier league) in October. We are very thrilled that we managed to get a player of such caliber here in Lahti. He is our biggest signing ever, and we sure have high expectations of him.

@melvinrobb hey,
i´read your question for Mike York.
Last season he´s played in the AHL for the Rochester Americans and now he´s a free agent and don´t sign a contract for the 2010/11 season.
I hope to help !

York is one of my favorite players i´ve ever seen.
He gaves all in every game and i´m lucky to saw him in the lockout season 04/05 here in Iserlohn/germany.
We are not so spoilt by sucess, but with him it was great.
If you´ve more videos, took them here OtherLittleMikey !!!
Thanks

salo? idk i liked him went i first started watching the oilers... but he was sooo bad the last few seasons he played.. even before the '02 Olympics.... i remember that after the olympic break, after the "goal" that rattled him, he came back and played a dozen games or so.. was horrible... and then went on a tear of like, 9 straight games of 1 goal or less, or something like that.... he was AWESOME! and I was super pumped. and then someone scored from the blue line... he never was good again!

Nice to see two of my favorite oilers again. York and Salo!!!

i'll never forget his season with my hometeam iserlohn roosters. he had a great year here and it was very exciting to see him play.
i love you mike york. he is my favourite player. what a great game to show how important he was to that team. they never should have traded him

He's my favourite too. Very disappointing the season he's having this year. I think people forget he was the MVP of the Oilers that season until he broke his finger.

Now that Mike York isn't with Edmonton, I rarely see footage of him (also, his game has decreased dramatically, so he isn't on highlight reels that often). I was just wondering if you know the reason for the drop in his play, or even if maybe he is not as bad as I am thinking? He went from being such a great well rounded player, to not being very effective. Plus, he was SOO clutch that season, until his injury. what are your theories as to his drop in production?

I have no inside information, only the usual rumours that always seem to float around when a player loses his game. If I had to choose one, I'd say booze, but again, that's complete speculation on my part. Looks like Scott Howson's thrown him a favour, even though York's been sent to their AHL team, so let's hope he's turned a corner somewhere. It's hard to believe a guy who obviously had some skills would suddenly just lose them all for no reason.

O.K.,.... ANY idea what is going on with Mike York?.... cause if you don't, I think I will have to call into NHL LIVE sometime next week and see if they can give me any info.... cause he signed with someone this summer... (columbus maybe.....)... but where is he??

Yep, he signed with Columbus, he's playing for their AHL team in Syracuse. He was called up to the big team for one game before Christmas but only on emergency recall - he has to clear waivers, otherwise (I believe, anyway). He didn't look particularly hot in that game, but he's doing pretty well for the AHL team.
