Alexandra Botez of Happy Valley, Oregon, a Canadian, won the All-Girls' Chess US Open National Championship in Chicago recently. This is a tournament organized by the Kasparov Foundation and sponsored by the USCF and University of Texas at Dallas. Alexandra won the eighteen years old and younger section with an undefeated 5.0/6, which entitles her to an Academic Distinction Scholarship to the University of Texas at Dallas, valued at $105,000 for an out-of-state student. This is the second chess scholarship she has won in the last two months, after winning in March - first place in the Susan Polgar National Tournament for Girls and a $40,000 scholarship at Texas Tech University.

  • Guys... she's 15 years old. Try to tone down the creepiness.

  • @viharsarok I am guessing - obviously. I play competetively against players with that rating. I've been playing a long time. But I've never played tournament chess and given where I live, it's not likely that I am going to anytime soon. I played a long time, although my game is not improving since at this point I play only about once a week and I play Thai chess three times that often (given the convenience of playing the Thai game).

  • @viharsarok I was talking about her performance in bed 'TARD. I am pretty sure you can't determine that based on her FIDE profile. How old are you, 12? And I don't have a rating since I live in provincial Thailand where there is no competetive chess and play mostly Thai chess these days anyway. I have beaten (and lost to) players with a rating of 1,500, so I suppose if I played competetively I'd be in that area.

  • Go Alexandra go! Hope you'll visit Romania more often.

  • @MADMAC572 I'm not judging her performance by appearance, 'tard. I'm judging it by her FIDE profile. What is your rating?

  • @viharsarok You can't judge performance by appearance!!! And I'll bet she could beat me. I'm a good player, been playing a long time. But I am not a tournament player.

  • @MADMAC572 Well, if you're satisfied by mediocre chess and mediocre sex...

  • @viharsarok You don't "need" the same girl, but it might be convenient.
