Keep your attacker in constant off balance physically and mentally. The best time to hit is when he is occupied trying to regain his balance and stability. It is at this specific moment he is fighitng 2 opponent, you and gravity.

This is just "one option" from the principles.

Traditional Kuntau is only used in a self "self defence" situation. Depending on the understanding of the teacher, Kuntau is one of the arts that knowledge can only be transferred from teacher to student. "Hati ke Hati" meaning from one heart to another.

I hope you enjoy the video clip.

APPRECIATION

My sincere appreciation to my brother Carlo Andreis for always working hard to organize a successful event and to the SSBD Italy family that has always been the heart of the art.

To all those who dedicated their time to travel, participate and support the events. For getting out of their way from their summer holidays and also the family that supports their husbands in attending the tight training schedule. To those coming from different parts of Italy and outside of Italy.

To Goshinkwai Total Body Defence as our guest instructors who rocked the house. Master Instructors Alun Williams, Shaun Sabin, Rob Pascoe, Chris Norvil, Lindsay and Matt.

To Alexander Plaksin of FCS Russia for supporting the event. Thank you so much for your patience, enthusiasm and spirit. You are truely inspirational.

To the "The Black Russian" Duane Nixon from New York and "Carbron" Eric Olea from Washington for flying in to Italy.

To Guru Micheal Faraone from Pukulan Serak Italy for honoring us with his visit.

To everyone that helped me in the demonstrations and instructions in the camp. Thank you for the patience.

My sincere apologies if I miss anyone, please email me personally to correct any mistakes, I hope the pictures can make up for it.

This seminar like my other events aims primarily to raise the curiosity and awareness among people from different nationalities about the martial heritage and culture of Brunei Darussalam in general.

  • The proud mentioned above in Silat refers to your poisture, regardless while standing, bending or be squading positions.the proud actions must be executed in any event. This is also a physiology to tell yr opponent that you are steady and ready during or after an attack, defend or fight,it will make yr opponent hesitate to retaliate too sometimes.

  • @KenichiGunFist312 It is depends on the person. If you watch Silat tournament, as you can see, they not going to go offensive. They are aware that wrong move will give them disadvantages. That is why sometime they shot their fake punches to bait the opponent 1st. Sorry if my reply not satisfying you up :)

  • @aleqsama Im a Bruneian, what if the opponent is Silat Suffianist too? Does it go offensive?

  • I'm impressed

  • @MrDrumFu ah, Yes that is what I was thinking. Thanks you for explaining it. I wasn't quite sure what he meant until now. It makes sense now.

    Thank you!

  • @jmikejapan Hello. I think the Pride thing he's referring to, is something that is also in Chinese martial arts. Where they use the term "proud" as meaning that you stay up straight, you don't bend or twist your body or lean over to reach your opponent, you keeps your body firm, bend THEM to YOU. Is that similar to what you were thinking?

  • Ma col coltello tradizionale che scuarta linguine e poi va a conficcarsi nel orbita oculare?

  • and i think he meant "proud" as self-confident

  • @jmikejapan he meant by "when someone try to hit 1st, he'll counter it". In Silat, we did not attack 1st, but we defending and counter it.

  • : )
