I lived at Belkin House in 08/09. There was a homeless guy I befriended. He slept near the door f the shelter at night, since it was full. This guy wasnt a drug addict. He was just a fellow who had reached over fifty years f age and didnt have a steady job, therefor could not pay rent. He was a genuinely nice guy. He was up looking for a smoke the next day & VPD showed up and blew him away for being homeless on an Olympic Street. Just hauled out a gun and shot the poor guy, then lied about him.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think the point of this video is to point out that Vancouver should have spent the millions they spent on the Olympics on the people in need of help in the DTES. That's what I took away from it. I wonder what percent of the money that was made by hosting the Olympics made it's way to help these people? This video wasn't made to make fun of the people in need of help but made to show what the TOP PRIORTIES of the Government in Vancouver are. Different but effective.

every major city in the world has a homeless problem. I grew up in johannesburg which is a million times worse than the beautiful city of Vancouver, and they're hosting the 2010 soccer world cup. Why dont you do a video on jo'burg.
