  • THAT is NOT the POLLERA DE GALA! Kindly don't try to pass off this- for the American and other foreign tourists. The Pollera de Gala is a white background top and bottom, embroidered in "Talco de Sombra" flowers in one color - top and bottom. What's featured here is the MONTUNA, the calico country dress. And the dance here, is a frenetic Mexican dance passed off as Panamanian. Even the flowers in the hair is Mexican. Panamanian dancers use TEMBLEQUES and PEINETAS.

  • Actually "POLLERA DE GALA" is the name of the dinner dance show at Restaurante Tinajas. This is just a small snippet from the entire show and yes the grand finale is the beautiful POLLERA DE GALA!

  • where can i buy pollera? i am in LA CA

  • The best place to buy Pollera is in Panama. The most famous dresses are made in the Azuero Peninsula - try Las Tablas and Chitre. You might also want to check out ebay.

  • where in the US can you buy a Pollera??....

  • nop, la montuna usa la blusa de una pollera con una falda de zaraza la blusa puede ser blanca lisa o bien bordada, marcasa o calada... esta camisilla que llevan estas chicas se llama basquiña.

  • those are "basquiñas" (work polleras) not polleras de gala.

Pollera the gala is white with had-made embroidering or crosspoint. Also the lady uses "tembleques" (the white flowers on the head)

  • Fé de errata: No es la pollera de gala, es la pollera montuna no?
