Here is a video clip taken off Chatham Ma. in Oct. 2008. Showing dead and dying Stripe Bass covering a 300 to 500 foot area. This is a horrible waste of a fishery.

  • I have seen it myself in november off he coast of maine. What a waste.LLS

  • toctm1995, you have nothing to worry about in regards to the Striper population, they are the most mismanaged fish on the eastern seaboard. As for comm. waste, rec. fisherman account for more harvest than comm. fisherman. Here in NC. we have a short season of 10 per day, usually a three day season with few fisherman targeting them. REC. vessels by the hundreds with 2 per person per day with a season lasting months. Up to 5 or 6 people per vessel.

  • Where was this? Close to NYC? What happened to the Stripers?

  • Blame this on the National Marine Fisheries.Conservation at is finest. They have no clue what they are doing

  • disgusting right? enjoy your cod fillets

  • That ss horrible, I love stripebass fishing and the last thing I want is the that to happen to the population
