Shooting Guns Into the Air Kills!

Sometime before the end of the year, I went to clean my house's gutters, and found a bullet in the roof of my house. That bothered me. Then when New Year's came along and I heard about what happened to Marquel Peters, I was horrified and saddened.

I thought I could make a difference by putting a video on the YouTube service that discourages people from shooting guns into the air. I didn't see another video like that when I searched. In addition to showing my roof, I am showing a view of Marquel's memorial page briefly.

My hope is that many, many people will see my video, and that they will see that a stray bullet can cause the loss of someone very precious. Maybe they will think twice before acting in such a careless manner.

May God bless Marquel and those who mourn his loss.

That's certainly a wake up call. There is some big callibre rounds out there that could really do some damage ....

@fjbutch Thanks for watching this one. I'm so thankful that during this past July 4th (USA Independence Day), our local TV stations mentioned the dangers of shooting guns into the air during their news programs. That's the first time I can remember them doing that.

That must have been scary to feel the September 2010 earthquake shake your house for so long! I'm glad that you and your family are safe and that your house is OK.

It seems that a certain lack of awareness of ANY physics seems to be sorely lacking in many 'people'. I suppose if one could shoot a bullet over 7.2 feet/second might send it into orbit, but anything less than that (and all bullets shoot considerably slower than that), so yes, they can and do kill people...
