The Freeplay alternator rather crudely attached to a bike, powering a cluster of 7 LED's - capable of 16 watts, efficiency 50% twice that of standard cycle dynamos.

The nearest rival is the Busch & Muller S12, that sells for an astonishing $600 US)

  • it produice all lot of light but not a lot of energy : not nore than 3 watts

  • nice pun roidroid ;)

  • brilliant! free power for all, and at a low cost

  • do a full product review please: what it is>?

    where do we get one>?

    & how much >?

  • wow, actually twice as efficient as the next best model - and so cheap.

it's amazing that they aren't supplying alternators to the bike dynamo market. That's a rich business opportunity sitting idle right there.

  • The freeplay alternator has always impressed me,but you have found a greater use for it...
