Come on Leupold, we want to see continuity, we'd like to see numbers on the illumination knob with the same knurling as shown on the windage or elevation knobs. It would looks much better. As is, it looks like you left it out...not as pleasing, looks incomplete. Look at the NightForce, that's a good looking scope!
@freestylmx311 The cost of a scope tells you a lot about what went into making it and about the components themselves. On high-end optics, a large percentage of the cost is in the glass itself. Not all glass is created equally, and these things are all hand built. There is as much or more precision in a good scope than there is in a good rifle.
Thats kinda how it's supposed to work. The scope will often cost more than the rifle itself for serious precision shooters. Even for my cheap(er) rifles (M700, etc) the scopes are 2~3x more expensive than the rifle itself. With a cheap scope you get a lot of strain, shoddy build quality, etc.
why are scopes so damn expensive?? They are ALL too expensive for what they are. It makes no sense to me that you go buy decent rifle for 500-800 dollars and then have to spend $2000 for a good scope, its bullturd!
@LEDshooter I think $579 is a fair price. If you look at a Vortex Viper PST 1-4x at about $500, it's right there in the same range. Honestly, I think Leupold has brought this in at a low price compared to their other tactical stuff. Optics prices are a hard pill to swallow until you actually get your hands on something good and can compare their quality and performance to the cheap Chinese crap that is floating around out there. Don't forget the warranty you get with the Leupold.
I was like "Cool!" until he said the price. lmao They make these scopes so expensive only Government agencies and the wealthy can afford them. They want us to buy American, but when you are on a limited budget you are forced to buy Chinese stuff for half the price.

@LEDshooter
You can always go with a Burris. They are also made (partially) stateside. Their catalog has some decent stuff in there.
