@XAshkEnteX i think it's the other way around, in css it's rather b-hop because there are more and smaller jumps, in quake it's more like strafe jumping, much further and you get much faster, even if you only jump and hit strafe, in css the mouse movement is more important to gain speed

Yes it's bhop, and it's sayed often in the comment and explained very often why I call it strafejump.

Of course you get the most speed by jumping downhill. But as you can see on 1:13 and 2:52 it would work everywhere.
