This is my Toshiba Satellite M205 14" lcd screen. As you can see it's in a pretty bad shape: when I change the screen angle it freezes many times, with some fade-to-white vanishing effects that can be seen on the video. The problem went worse over time for a couple of months.
____________
solution:
This is strictly a matter of a bad lcd matrix. It didn't had anything to do with any other component on my computer (lcd cable, inverter, poor connection of the screen cable, -everything's fine.) The matrix is a sandwich of different layers, and if it loosen up, the internal components that emit light malfunction. That's also why by applying some pressure on the screen the problem may change behavior or stop. (also changing the screen angle pushes on the screen and can induce similar behavior).
One possible cause why that happened to me in the first place may be poor quality screen purchased on Ebay. It wasn't a main brand screen.
Other reason may be me riding bicycle carrying the laptop in a padded backpack.

If the problem is not really bad, you can try opening the laptop's screen cover and with some small foam or other soft material apply pressure from the back side of the screen. (that is, between the actual screen and the screen's cover.) It might hold for a while, it might hold for life; as far as I experienced it, it goes worse with time.

eventually I had to change the whole screen. the matrix is the part that makes the colors, (duh!) It's very fragile, and it's not repairable. When my screen was practically dying I decided to operate on it. (just for fun! first get a replacement!) opened all red stickers that say "do not touch/remove", and saw how the whole thing is made up. later on I saw I broke the matrix, and I was really careful, so don't plan on salvaging it.

  • @ Ishachar

Thank you so much for posting this video and the solution. I'm having the exact same problem with a HP Pavilion DV6000. I had the thing open with the LCD in my hands flexing it and I could see it flickering like that the same way even though I had just installed a new inverter and cable. Thought I was going crazy, but I wanted to verify someone else had this problem before I purchased a new LCD.

  • Same Problem But 100X Worse It Will Stay White For Like A Min And I Have A CoolingPad

  • mine freeze's i was told its an issue with the matrix is this trure? or could it be something else, i have a laptop.

  • i have the same problem....
