At Candor's home meet with Tioga, one of Candor's runners rips off his shorts after the first lap of the 2-mile. He runs the remaining 7 laps in a speedo.
The timing on the audio might be a bit off...not sure why, but it seems to screw up as youtube processes it.

If, in fact, the runner in the brief was disqualified, that would be sex discrimination if a female would not have been disqualified for doing the same thing. Imagine the uproar that would ensue if a female were penalized or DQ's for removeing clothing. It would happen to a female so it is sex discrimination.

I plan to make a 5-minute video for YouTube to demonstrate how to make a basic brief and a matching singlet (which had been common in sprint and Olympic triathlons) as comfortable to wear as a pair of split shorts (which many male runners still use in marathons today.)

If the women can do it, a guy can too. In this video it is likely that officials here are not prepared, therefore, not ready to meet the new challenge for freedom of movement the women runners have already prophecized.
At that time, this wasn't really the time and occasion.
I have concocted various prototype racing suits that may spell the end of covering up down to the knees for some (though not all) men.

This runner could be predicting changing winds.
Keep in mind that male runners in a brief have been up to now as common in a triathlon as the Volkswagen Beetle still is on public highways in various countries.
In a formal racing event it would be pointless to disqualify a runner like him. Women have been racing on the track in briefs and even bikinis (later) since the start of the 1980s.
