  • @MrFreeLibertarian I will concede that the systems in Western countries are more fair and lax upon its citizenry in comparison to the dictatorial regimes abroad. In that respect, Western nations are far more advanced. I could write papers on the cultural flaws existent within many Middle Eastern countries without even touching their religion. However, the masses, including both you and me, are unawares of the sinister games being played upon them and upon foreign nations.

  • @MrFreeLibertarian Stop concerning yourself with terms. You're right the war in iraq and afghanistan seem to have no returns yet now the US is able to use Iraq as a base of operations in the middle east. US still has troops in Japan and up till now had 80K troops even in Europe. We have the most bases across the world, we've been shoving our companies from fast food to oil into other countries, and much more. The high ground cannot be taken in human rights or business ethics.

  • @iraaus You had it right in your first post when you were talking about the political subversions and secret operations conducted by Western powers in countries not only in the Middle East but across the world. The left and right argument hides the more important issues. Gulf of Tonkin incident was a lie that America used to begin the Vietnam War. Osama living right next to a military base in Pakistan is something the CIA didn't know? Ridiculous. The British have conducted far greater schemes.

  • @iraaus You're wrong. The "classic left" nationalized industries. It is the same thing, and mincing words to get around it is just... ridiculous.

  • where is everyone.this is shameful.such an important topic.what is the attendance?shame.God bless Mr.Hannan.

  • @paradigmentropy

Nice conversation, although i agree with what you say in the classic sense of your word but don't forget when we have corporations running our governments then we have facsism and that is far right, it looks left as it is all those things you say, but it isn't, As you know the classic left would never give the tax payers money to bail out the big corporations, as it is true for the even centre right, it is only the far right that would do that and have big government & control

  • @iraaus The differentiating factor between the GOP (the supposed heirs of the "right" legacy) and the democrats (heirs of the "left") is in domestic policy. While both parties have no issue squandering our freedoms via bills like the PATRIOT Act, SOPA, the controversial clauses of the NDAA, etc. it is only the "right" that still panders to the 50+ "I'm-too-old-to-change-my-ways" crowd. This is a dying breed, voting on dying beliefs (because the world has become better educated).

  • @iraaus To further my argument, I challenge you to find one study of credible origins that references the "right" as the tax-and-spend party. Granted, at one time the two parties stood in opposition to one another, one deeply entrenched in fiscal, domestic, and foreign policy conservatism, and the other far more liberal. These days liberalism is rampant. We see interventionism via stimulus spending (economic) and internationally (war, declared or not, sanctions, threats, militaristic flexing, etc

  • @iraaus First of all, let's define "left" and "right". "left" is typically shorthand for liberal. "right" is typically shorthand for conservative. For now, based on the context of your comment, I'll assume "left", or "liberal" to mean someone who favors intervention by government, be it economically, domestically, or internationally. For conservatives, vice versa. Supposing these definitions were true, would we not be facing a "left vs. left" crisis, rather than right vs. right?

  • couldn't give a rats arse about jimmy or Obama all the same to me, america has no left, it is right or far right and two faces of the same coin.

But lets just look at this silly left and right divide that you talk about, clinton supposed left gave bush the biggest surplus in US history and in 8 short years those right wing idiots turned that in to biggest deficit, wow couldn't achieve that had i planed it. what a bunch of fools you and your ilk are!
