  • i wish i was in that unit when i was having family problems at home and was feeling depressed instead of my unit helping me when i asked for it they told me to fuck my self and turn there backs on me it didnt bother me that the lower ranking soldiers were imature about what i was going through but it bother me when the nco and officers t5old them to stay away from me

  • @macalynng Excellent point, the ostricization is definitely an aspect that needs to be addressed. This video reminds me that it's not just the brothers in arms who are at battle with this, but anyone who has friends and loved ones in this world. At ALL times we need to be aware of this information, lest we end up having to be challenged with the same “what if I'd done this or that differently”. We need to be aware in this world, and care, not be afraid to step in a challenge one another.

  • I totally agree with Revbone450 says; my cousin had a beautiful all around and then some young gentleman who accelled in almost everything enter the army.

my cousin's son never walked into their home door again; instead he came home in a body bag. a soldier, destroyed by his own surroundings; when he asked for help his sargent humilated him infront of his patoon.

  • @Revbone450 is that if I come forward with a mental health problem I will be publically humiliated.

  • Dear soldiermediacenter, one issue that needs to be brought up when it comes to soldiers and suicidal thoughts is how the army handles suicidal trainees in basic training. We had a couple of kids who "cracked" at Ft. Benning and they were singled out, ostricized and publically humiliated. (took away their belts, boot laces etc and made them wear an orange road vest) I assume this is done to try and dissuade any "fakers". I think the lesson a lot of soldiers take away from this
