  • I would recommend upgrading to a electrical panel with breakers. If a breaker trips then all you have to do is reset the breaker. They say the industry standard for the life of a panel is 30 years. You are doing the correct thing by not over fusing a circuit. If you do not put in the correct fuse the wire and equipment can be damaged before the incorrect fuse blows. Larry

  • We use breakers for all the circuits in the home. For many electrical shops here use a fusible disconnect for a/c, heat pump units. (At the unit disconnect).

  • Sorry about the title. It was one of the first videos done. Once the views started to increase I left it alone. I will make another that will do you more justice. Thank you for the input. Larry

  • If your heading is " Replacing breakers in electrical panel" why then are we not seing this done in the video. Why waste everyones time.

  • @RightCountry Sorry. The was new to making and posting videos on You Tube. Once the views got up there it was suggested to not change it. Will have some coming out soon with the correct heading and correct footage. Larry

  • The only thing we use fuses on in homes here is outdoor heating and cooling units. I'm speaking generally. Fuses verses circuit breaker disconnects normally is a personal choice via the electrical contractor due to cost.

  • @patricknedz uprgrade mine just blew out yesterday :(

  • my house is older and still uses a fuse box, but what would really be safer, to keep the fuse box or upgrade to a breaker panel? if I fuse blows I am always sure to by the right size depending on what the amp level is and not to over load the circuit with the wrong fuse

  • @telosfd However, there are specialized circuit breakers and fuses that can pull double duty and also protect against that other stuff. Those are only used though where code requires them to be used.
