This video is full of the special creative magic of the Brotherhood Of The Sacred Word. A musical meditation on renunciation, Christian devotion, ascetic practices, wandering, being an American saddhu, hoboing, getting alone to know God, bhakti yoga, and a practice of the men of the Brotherhood of the Sacred Word. Features an original ditty by Julian Lee and Nick Weir. The starting music is an unplanned "jam," with Nick Weir on guitar and Julian's creaky fiddle efforts. (He took up string instruments very late in life, and is only self-taught.) In this jam, as with all jams, neither knew what the other one was going to play. You can hear them spontaneously play the chord structure and melody for this charming ditty the very first time. Two video clips here show that original session. A great wandering song by some brothers of the Brotherhood of the Sacred Word. Then it transitions to a beautiful acoustic rendition by Nick, with his inimitable string fingerings and vibrato, and light vocals by Julian. It's a wonderful video inspiration for asceticism and religious devotion/bhakti. Mr. Lee wandered homeless and far many times in his life in search of truth, the clear perspective of detachment, and a closer conscious connection to God. He recommends one day weekly of town-and-country wandering to all God-seeking men and the men of Brotherhood households, to get a sense of the saddhu/ascetic experience, get some detachment from the world, to feel alone with God, and get insight into life and mankind's situation. Just like the song, many of the scenes in this video were spontaneous and unplanned, including the church scene which is very moving. "The Brojangle" Copyright 2009 Julian Lee, Nick Weir

  • WOW! I finally get it. You guys are all white racists promoting God, love and

moral values.? I am a bit confused but I guess there is a place for

everything and everyone in Gods kingdom. As long as they are the RIGHT kind

of folks. My Indian master would be appalled.....

  • @mrhyperbolic -- You are confused. We are God-seekers promoting love-of-God, plus love of one's people, and preservation of the diversity God created. It's obvious, simple. There USED to be a place for everything in God's kingdom. Until Jews began teaching Whites they should hate themselves, and give their countries away. Your Indian master, if really an Indian master, would agree. Racial preservation is in the Indian scriptures way back to the Dharma Manu-Shastra. It's classically Indian.

  • Wandering, hoboing, homelessness, and medicancy are "non-European values"? You don't know much about the history of Christianity, do you punk? And the asceticism values of ancient India were propagated by the Aryans in the Vedas. "Supreme"? Are you drunk, punk?

  • Yes this is a common experience of men embracing the highest morality. Thanks for that message. We look forward to more work! JL

  • That would be excellent.
