http://lightenupandshoot.net/ heads to Las Vegas, Nevada for the WPPI tradeshow and has some time to do some shooting. Most photographers visiting Vegas head to the strip to shoot; we decided the real photography adventure begins when you get outside your comfort zone and do something different. We wanted to shoot somewhere exciting, so we asked several photographers along the strip to suggest a location out of the ordinary...one photographer suggested an old mining town from the 1800's 30 minutes south of Vegas called Nelson. Watch our shoot with our new friend, Hardy, who we met while shooting in Vegas.

i'll be in Vegas this june/july and im also planning to do a shoot in Nelson. Did you guys have to pay to shoot at the location?

@Phillostar we actually just showed up and started shooting. But, the owner of the property does charge a nominal fee depending on what you are doing. I think it was around $10 an hour.

Dennis shot all the pics. He is on photo assignment, so we will update when he sends them this week. We figured the video was good enough to post without photos this go around. Are you going to step out of your comfort zone and submit a story/photo?
