Every now and then I hear what I believe is a song thrush, a bird whose varied songs reminds me of a North American mockingbird and nightingale.

  • We agree. It sounds like the closet thing to a mockingbird, but is a song thrush.

  • Yes, in the U.S., this would sound like a Mockingbird. However, I live in southwest England right now and this bird isn't called a mockingbird. I've asked locals about this bird and they've said it is a song thrush. I'm still trying to confirm that.

  • Northern Mockingbirds are native only to North America and don't migrate. Having lived around them all my life, this doesn't really sound like one to me.
