@chenshiwei: in the sprint riders don't go all out, until the bell (usually). this race is all about tactics. the ideal is to be the man behind and then get the jump on the lead guy. thus, the lead person will do trackstands and other maneuvers to get the person that is behind to go to the front. hoy did something highly unusual in that he started the race behind (in the coveted spot) and then moved to the front. not sure why. after the bell they do a full lap at FULL speed

Can anyone tell me why for the first half of the video the two riders did not even do any hard effort after they were released by the race officials? All I saw was just some trackstands and both riders following each other vertically up and down the velodrome. Can anyone explain what Track Racing is all about? Sorry, I don't ride track.

Bos's last 200 meters is only slightly slower than my 200m TT w/ flying start

The race was over at 2:58. Hoy let Bos go up track and at the same time, left that hole for Bos to dive thru (apron side). When the world record holder for the flying 200 (Bos), has several pedal strokes and bike lengths on you, there is nothing you can do. Matched sprints are like watching prize fighting, where two men square off and go head to head. It's really exciting and the highlight of any world's.
