Andrae Crouch & the Disciples reunited for an afternoon in April, 2011. Joining the singers were two members of their backup band, Bill Maxwell on drums and Hadley Hockensmith on guitar. Legendary bass player Abraham Laboriel was also there and played on a couple of songs. When they sang,"I Don't Know Why", Andrae had Sue, a woman from his church join them and at the end of the song Hadley and Abraham added a couple of burning solos.

  • Sue who is singing on this song is the choir leader at Andrae's church today and was never one of the Disciples. Bili & Perry were in the original Disciples that started recording as Andrae & the Disciples along with his sister Sandra.

  • Why did Sandra leave the performance?

  • @sOnlight67 it was an informal get together so she went over to talk to someone who came had just come into the room. she was back at the mike for the next song.

  • Wow! This song is a legion and there are a lot of musicians that could not duplicate what this band did! For over 24 yrs I have seen a lot of musicians that can play a lot of fancy impressive chords but when it comes down to playing the old school stuff and just music from the early 80's and back, they just can't seem to pick it up! I really believe that back then you had to have skills AND a ANOINTING to play music! I honor these great musicians and Praise God for giving them such great gifts!

  • What a blessing, Andrae's music is as timeless as Christ's message. After it is Christ's message.

  • @MusicianConnection I totally agree, although I think you meant 'legend' rather than legion. :)

  • Are these the original Disciples from Andrea Crouch and the Disciples?

  • A classic. Timeless.

  • Thanks for responding. I was shocked 2 c how u stretched my comment to say something so way out! I dearly love all that Andrae stands for & has done for contemporary Christian music. And it's because I love him that I'm very sad 2 c him in the physical state he's in now, in the same way you'd b sad to c your own mother who raised you go through cancer.THE SONG IS GREAT! But musically the song is off! Of course its great he's still spreading gospel. No need to be so defensive. God's peace 2 u.

  • @TheeMotivator Are you really serious?? This man has been singing for years and you have the gall and audacity to type that you are sad at seeing/hearing this??!! Really.....yes let us pray that God continues to keep Pastor Crouch in good health but let us also pray for your narrow mind at even typing such thoughts about those spreading the gospel through song! Blessings to you
