I'm always curious what is running in other people's system tray. Here is a list of my main Windows 7 box:

NVIDIA Settings
MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials)
XChat IRC Client
Outlook 2010
Google Calendar Sync
F.lux
Greenshot
Logitech Setpoint

Post a response video below - or just type it in the comments LOL

  • I keep one of my favorite programs in the systray (Notification Area) called MiniBin. It a program shortcut for the Recycle Bin. You can empty the bin from there, though what I used it for is to keep the desktop clean. Plus the program's icon is very native-looking, so it blends well with the other default "alway show" icons.

  • @sterlingman Thats cool... so you can hide your desktop's recycle bin and just use the minibin one?

  • I got my computer running quite efficiently so all I have is: NOD32 (Best antivirus), Skype, F.lux, Asrock Extreme Utility (Mobo Software) and Setpoint, However, throughout the day I usually also have VLC and Daemon Tools and steam.

  • @lewisthemusician Woohoo, another F.lux user!. Oh yeah, I guess I should install my Asrock software.

  • Nothing, i'm running sled..

  • @Zuttoh Hmmmm... ummm ok lol

  • My systray no longer has the icon where I can check to see what wireless networks are in the area. Any idea how to get this one back? Thanks.

  • @PCAddictsLive Yep. You can't drag and drop files to the icon, Windows doesn't support that, but you right-click and Delete for that.

I'm also running MSE, webcam, Live Mesh, printer, Live Mail, printer, and my router's settings in the systray.

  • @PCAddictsLive It's amazing, I just realised I also should have TuneUp Utilities 2012 on the system tray, will have to do some investigating to work out why that has gone.

Best software though for managing your PC

  • @2011GeekTech Thats cool, everyone has their own way of doing things. I just use the router's firewall, as well as Windows firewall (especially Windows 7 firewall is very configurable).

  • @2011GeekTech Thanks for the kind words bro! Also thanks for sharing the info!

  • @PCAddictsLive Yup their cydia app for iphone is the best for night time. Turning on my phone in a dark bar or something like that doesn't blind me anymore.
