Fusion Core Light - 2: patterns 1 to 10

These are patterns 1 to 10. The board is controlled with a single button designed for multiple functions. First function is to change the pattern with a single tap. Second is to reverse the direction of the display. This works primarily for rotating patterns. Third button function is for power control. When off, tap to turn on and the start up pattern fads on. When running, press and hold till the power down pattern runs and it will shut down.

32 LED sequencer displaying 10 patterns. Powered from 4 AA batteries, accepts 3v to 12v as input and is self regulating. Each LED is independently driven and the LED color type may be solid or mixed. Board dimension is 2.5 inches no LEDs, 3.25 inches with LEDs.

I'm just recently getting familiar with the Arduino and am very interested on other PICs. How did you program this one? How do PIC chips compare to ATMega? Sorry for my ignorance.

I have not used those yet. I do know they are all good and just personal preference. Cool Ranch or Salsa, both come from Doritos.

PIC24F series. The code, is the brains the ic is just the skull. Any modern day micro can do this but who is in the driver's seat makes all the difference.

just curious, i want to retrofit something just like this into my tail lights for my car for turn signals, is it possible to wire it with say, pattern 6, given the flasher of the car when the turn signal is not on just kills the power to the source? or would it be easier to use something like this as is with no program, any thoughts would be appreciated thanks
