She could act, sing and dance, but could not pick a good man. She was so talented, but life seemed too rough on beautiful actresses of the past(especially non-white). Nevertheless, this was a great video. Dorothy was such a classy lady. I wish female entertainers of today could be classy like she was.

Just perfect! One would never guess how much of nervous wreck she was before performing.

Love this woman!!! And I'm not trying to brag or sound cocky but my body looks like hers and for years I hated it because I thought I was too skinny but looking at her helped me be confident in my body.

Please don't ever ever remove this video clip of Dorothy singing at the Velvet NightClub. Interesting how the camera pans over to boxhead June Allyson who looks so drab after Dandridge lights up the screen setting hearts on fire.

Dorothy Dandridge has been my queen since I first saw her in "Bright Road" in 1953. I was 8 years old and had never seen a beautiful black woman on the big screen before. I've searched for this nightclub scene for many years so I am so thankful to finally see Dandridge perform this sexy number from "Remains To Be Seen". DD is absolutely drop dead gorgeous. I still can't figure out why Dorothy Dandridge never made records like Lena Horne and Eartha Kitt. "Give me Glamour..or Give me Death!"

@MsAppleofhiseye i actually thought Judy Garland's life was more like a mirror to Dorothy's as opposed to Marilyn Monroe

I have been wanting to see this performance 4-EVA!..Thank you so much! =) I adore Dorothy

If Marilyn were black she'd be Dorothy!
Good point, thanks. Don bogle implies that Phil Moore got her appearance, clothes & moves right but he was so controlling that he undermined her confidence in her singing which made her nervous.
