It's the war, stupid.

Hagle is a bull. He's survived the slaughterhouse of war. He's put his life on the line for you. He's felt the grief, seen the blood and came to know the futility of unjust, illegal and immoral war.
Easy for Bush and Cheney to send our children, like cows to the slaughterhouse, they've never seen nor felt it...

The Senate needs 99 clones of Chuck Hagel! Still can't believe these words came out of the mouth of a Republican!
Ron Paul was saying this as far back as 98.

I appreciate and agree with the comment. If you check the date, you will see I put this video together more than a year ago - before Ron Paul was running for President. Since then, Chuck Hagel has indicated he will not run and Ron Paul is having an impact. I am now supporting Ron Paul, although I don't believe he can win or be nominated. Still, I am supporting him because he is providing a much needed libertarian cattle prod to the GOP.

Where's Wesley Clark?

I'd have to say Clark was right in '03 on Iraq, but it is not clear to me that he is running again in '08. Indications are that he will not run this time.

Didn't Hagel vote for the war? He was hardly any more "right" on Iraq than anyone else just because he said not to rush to war. I think the best shot for the Republicans is to run Huckabee. He doesn't have this Iraq thing on his hands like McCain and Hagel do.

This is not about the vote for the "Joint Resolution" in October, 2002. There were many good reasons to vote for that resolution, including a reasonable hope for a negotiated settlement and/or additional action out of the UN. What is important, is what the candidates said or did not say to the American people in the six months before the war started. Ambiguity or political waffling on the war in that crucial six months is automatic disqualification to be elected President in 2008.
