"Fruitopia" is Tim Leaton's first student film, which he directed at age 20. It won first place in the Progeny Festival of Motion Pictures.

"Fruitopia" is the eight-minute story of a young boy (Jonny Leaton) who sets up a fruit/lemonade stand. However, he fails to attract a single customer, and falls asleep. While he's sleeping, the fruit comes to life.

  • I guess some might say I'm like Shia Labeouf in Transformers. It's not like anyone on earth went and saw that movie for him, but he still had to act and be on screen and keep up with the more interesting and funner-to-watch robots. I'd like to think that's me in Fruitopia, just keeping up and playing along with all the hooplah and gremlin-y antics of that scrumptious, playful, party-loving fruit. And the fruit was just so great to work with, always staying one step ahead of everybody on set.
