My stud male Motley putting his claw-like spurs to work to initiate some courting action.
These spurs are remnants of when boas had hind legs.
Some people say these limbs are useless and not functioning while this footage here shows they are a functioning part with muscles and functioning joints.

  • what's happening here

  • the male is courting the female to initiate courting.

This is one or the longest courting rituals in the animal kingdom which can last up to 4-5 months before the female allows copulation

  • That was brilliant

  • I thought so too,

It is some rare footage to say the least

  • do females have spurs 2?

  • yes but usually they are way smaller then a males but not always

see all
