Bischoff said it would be just another opportunity to fire him. Bischoff and Austin shot back, "Fired!" and "Hired!" for awhile until Austin said he was close to losing his temper. Finally, Austin said they could settle it with a match, Austin against Bischoff. Austin wins, JR stays, Bischoff wins, JR goes. Bischoff liked the idea but said Linda McMahon wouldn't considering she said there was to be no physical contact between Bischoff and Austin. Morely stepped in and said he'd take Bischoff's place in a match, but not against Austin. Morely said since it was JR's job on the line, he should be wrestling JR. Austin disagreed. Bischoff then asked Austin who he thought Morely should wrestle for JR's job. Over at the announcers booth, Jerry Lawler stood up and volunteered his services.
